Getting an imaging scan? Make sure you’re ready. Follow these tips, so you won’t have any problems when you go through the procedure. By knowing these tips in advance, you can get through this much faster.
Make Sure You Can Take the Test
Before you make an appointment with an open MRI facility, know the basic rules. If you’re pregnant and on your first trimester, you can’t take the test. Also, if you have a pacemaker, have clips in your head from being treated for brain aneurysm, or have cochlear implants, you can go for the test. A good doctor will ask about these things, though, before they recommend you for the procedure.
Talk About Your History
Make sure your doctor knows that you have any metal implants. If you have any health problems like liver or kidney disease, or if you’ve undergone surgery and possible allergies to medication that you might have experienced.
Wear Comfortable Clothes
Avoid wearing anything that’s too tight. Instead, wear loose clothing like jogging pants or loose leggings and a shirt. That way, you won’t feel the need to tug at your clothes for being too tight. Remember, you need to stay still throughout the procedure.
Remove Anything Metal
Get ready for the test by removing any body piercings. Leave your watch or any jewelry at home.
