Oak Brook plastic surgery includes a variety of procedures that can help men and women look their best and feel better about their appearance.
What Is liposuction?
Liposuction describes a group of techniques used in body contouring to remove excess fat. It can be done almost anywhere on the body including the abdomen, breasts, upper arms and thighs. In liposuction, the doctor will make an incision and insert a hollow tube called a cannula that they will use to break up the fat. The tube is often connected to a suction that will vacuum out the fat. Surgeons have developed many variations over the decades. They can, for instance, use lasers or ultrasound to melt the fat and make it easier to remove. Liposuction can be done on its own or along with another procedure such as an abdominoplasty.
What Is gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a common condition that can affect boys and men. The patient develops enlarged breasts that resemble those of a woman. A patient with gynecomastia can have excess skin, glandular tissue and fat. The surgeon will recommend a breast reduction technique to remove the excess tissue and give the patient a more masculine appearance. If the patient needs excess fat removed, for example, the surgeon will often recommend some form of liposuction. The surgeon may also recommend a new technique called J-Plasma that is used to tighten skin.
What Is the Longevity Spa?
The Longevity Spa is a medical spa on the Institute’s premises. It offers a variety of nonsurgical treatments and procedures that include laser hair removal, body wraps, chemical peels, skin tightening and acne treatments. It also provides muscle relaxants like Botox and a variety of dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Radiesse. The injections can be used in a treatment called a “liquid facelift” that temporarily smooths out wrinkles.
